At the age of 6years Michael came to Germany. Up to his 6th year, he was living in Ghana with his grandparents till his parents brought him to Germany.

After he arrived in Germany, he lived 2 years with his uncle in Frankfurt till his parents brought him to Duisburg in NRW where they also lived.

At that time, Michael knew no one in the area till he got to know someone from his family, his cousin Shalom.

During that time Michael started having interest for music and was basically listening to songs from Michael Jackson, MC Hammer and BIG and he just wanted to be like his role-models.

As he began schooling, Michael found some friends with whom he could raise his enthusiasm for his passion. Henceforth after a short time a pupil’s music organization was formed.

Michael found out a time later that he was interested in a different type of the music than the music made at the school in the music organization.

So he continued searching for other options to make music.

Finally he went to a youth center in the neighborhood. Where he found people who were ready to listen to his ideas, as in building a break dance crew.

He was an active participant for 2 years till he spontaneously had to rap during a show. And there his rap carrier began.

After a hard time of practicing, he had a performance in front of 3000 people at the YOU exhibition in Essen. However he didn’t have the right partner. Coincidentally he met his up-to-date best friend Ekiner Terasli with whom he overwhelmed and inspired the crowd.

Very soon a manager of a Theatre in Duisburg got to know about the duo and asked them to join them with their talent. After a short time of hesitation Michael and Ekiner let in for the so called adventure and overwhelmed the Duisburg theatre with acting and at the same time a musical debut in their young ages.

After a certain time Michael and Ekiner departed for a short time and Michael continued moving till he reached Düsseldorf.

There in Düsseldorf, he got to know a very famous and a good music equipped youth center. Being compared to Duisburg, this one was different as many cultures came together, which made a strong musical development and also brought inspirations.

Through the work in the youth center Michael got his nickname Easy Mike.

Since then, being inspired by his role model DMX, he left an impression with that name and many performances at youth exhibitions, youth centers and in clubs. And there his musical career began.

The performances helped as inspiration for his first Album, which was produced by Zumi (Kamazutra Records). Through the work with the label, it came to collaboration with his old friend Kwaku Obeng-Asiamah. Rapidly both decided to form the group A.I.M. (Ambition In Mind). Within the first two years after forming the group Dicky, Mighty and O.B.(i) joined and they decided to release a mixtape.

Propaganda about the mixtape worked out a collaboration with Collins Owusu at his home studio. Easy took his mates from A.I.M. with him to Collins studio and there the Record Label TNG was highly lifted.

Easy Mike experienced some huge and little performances, which has contributed to his reputation today.

After some years A.I.M. separated and Easy Mike continued alone. (Kwaku became a pastor, Dicky a fitness tycoon, Mighty a student and O.B.(i) a big time baller who also studied)

Despite the separation of the group, Easy Mike wasn’t less successful. He used the internet wisely to promote himself and his music. And just at the right time a competition of the TV program Viva – Youmeu came across his line.

Easy Mike enrolled himself in it and came under the last 10 groups. A TV performance on Viva whereby it was the last stage before the finals followed. Easy Mike was with the last three groups left, and took the second position, just a narrow margin away from victory.

Easy Mike never gave up the hope and he always had fans behind him but he wanted to develop himself regarding the musical aspect.

In order to get closer to the people of his homeland and also to express all his feelings, Easy Mike decided to go “back to the roots” and record his songs in his mother tongue Twi.

Also to feel closer and to show that a new chapter has began, he dropped his artist name and changed to: Gye Nyame.
